Dili International School enrolls students whose first language is not English. These students are provided with classroom support, and additional out of school hours ESL support however, it may be necessary for some students to enlist additional help and/or undertake extra English classes which may required additional fees be charged for the provision of these services.

The Australian curriculum Benchmarking standards used by Dili International School are sufficiently flexible to enable English as a Second Language (ESL), and English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners to demonstrate different pathways to achievement to that of first language speakers (FLS).

Primary grade ESL/EFL students are managed within the mainstream classrooms. Secondary Students will be enroled in either a specialist EFL class or on a Distance Education Program.
